The new practice extension to Monnow Eyecare in Cinderhill Street is now complete and it’s stunning! There is a spacious reception area and four fully equipped ground floor consultation rooms. The entrance has easier access for disabled people and wheelchair users appreciate the new ramp. Overall the look is sleek and modern, with stylish curves to the walls, wooden floors and large colourful lanterns in cool, calming colours.
The larger ground floor reception space provides room for a bigger selection of glasses so customers have more choice when it comes to choosing their new frames. Customers arriving early for their appointments are now seated more comfortably in the new easy chairs with free tea and coffee to enjoy while they wait.
“Customers have been quick to praise the new look and a lot of them really love it” says Felicity Howe who welcomes customers on reception. Others early visitors have described it as “modern but restful” and “very inviting with tasteful décor” .
“We all love our new look practice” says manager Helen Tilley. “Having state of the art ground floor consultation rooms has really been appreciated by our customers, who no longer have to negotiate the stairs to get to our OCT scanner, and by our staff enjoying their breaks in the new kitchen/diner”.
The OCT scanner is now in a ground floor room, which allows more patients to make use of this advanced, 3D technology. The scanner is more accurate and informative than the traditional 2D scanners used by the majority of high street opticians and was previously housed upstairs in the building.
The additional space is valued by all the customers at the growing practice, where numbers have been steadily increasing for the last 8 years. The new facilities allow the receptionists to offer more emergency appointments and a wider choice of convenient dates and times for all customers.
